Basic Conflict Management - AzLA Virtual Conference

Knowing how to manage conflict is an essential skill for those who supervise people or work on teams. In this session, participants will learn 5 basic ways we handle conflict and be able to download a self-assessment tool to learn their own conflict management/negotiating preferences and styles. They will also learn a basic two-step conflict model for resolving issues, learn tools for emotional awareness and self-regulation, learn how to practice active listening, and giving and receiving feedback.

Dale Savage is Continuing Education Consultant for the Arizona State Library and the current Central Regional Representative of AzLA. Rene Tanner is a Librarian at Arizona State University and the current Treasurer of AzLA.
