Personal Digital Archiving Workshop
In an age where the record of our lives exists almost completely on digital devices, what can you do to preserve your personal records? This workshop will go over the challenges with electronic records, including obsolescence, proprietary formats and disorganized file storage. Attendees will learn the basic concepts of digital preservation and how they may be applied to personal computing. We will review simple strategies and freeware that attendees can use to restore, maintain and protect their personal files, including text and photos as well as websites and social media. Attendees are encouraged to bring personal laptops (Mac or PC) with a power source.
