Helping leisure readers is a core service at all public libraries. It is also a service that every member of the staff can and should be engaged in; however, many staff not only do not know where to begin, but also, they are not encouraged to help.

Well that outdated mindset is about to end. Join international Readers' Advisory expert, Becky Spratford, as she unveils the secrets to her success. From being able to share books you have never read to provocative conversation starters and more, Becky will spill it all and help you to become a RA superstar in your own right.

Learning Objectives for this program:

  • Learn how any library worker, from any position, can participate in service to leisure readers

  • Understand the difference between sharing what happens in a story vs why someone would enjoy it

  • Come away with a list of easy to replicate tips and tricks for immediate implementation
