DESCRIPTION:Conspiracy theories\, misinformation\, cyberbullying\, 
 arguments and much more happen online every second of the day. Librarians 
 frequently interact with their patrons in this fraught environment. How can 
 we teach civil discourse with so much incivility? \n\n \n\nCarrie has 
 taught college online and in-person since 2015 and holds certifications in 
 online teaching. She has also taught K-12 students’ digital etiquette and 
 how to better communicate online in her work as founder of the 
 mission-based company Digital Respons-Ability. \n\n \n\nIn this interactive 
 and informative program you will learn:\n\n\n	How to create a Netiquette 
 guide and policy\n	The basics of digital etiquette\n	When to remove\, 
 report and/or respond to disruptions online\n	Techniques to defuse online 
 tensions\n	Why we share misinformation online\n\n\nCarrie Rogers-Whitehead 
 ~ Biography  \n\n \n\nCarrie Rogers-Whitehead worked in libraries for 
 nearly a decade and now consults and trains librarians. She is the author 
 of the book Teen Fandom and Geek Programming with Rowman & Littlefield 
 and her new book Digital Citizenship: Teaching and Practice from the 
 Field comes out in fall 2019. \n\n \n\nShe is the founder of Digital 
 Respons-Ability\, a mission-based company that educates students\, parents 
 and educators on digital citizenship. She is also a college instructor\, 
 event planner who regularly writes on technology for various media outlets.
