Arizona Talking Book Library Tour

Please join the Maricopa County Library Council’s Continuing Education Committee for a tour of the Arizona Talking Book Library!

The Arizona Talking Book Library serves individuals who are unable to read or use regular print materials, including those who are blind or have low vision, those who find it hard to hold or handle a print book, and those who have a perceptual or reading disability, along with schools, libraries, nursing homes, hospitals, and other institutions serving eligible people. The library provides books and magazines in audio and braille formats, special equipment to access these materials, and movies with audio descriptions by postage free mail.  Patrons can also download books and magazines 24/7 through the BARD service and have access to NFB-Newsline with over 300 newspapers and magazines available by phone and online. The library opened in 1970 and is a Regional Library of the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, Library of Congress.

Library tours are a great way to learn how other libraries operate, gain new perspectives and ideas, and broaden your understanding of your surrounding library community. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the unique and important services of the Arizona Talking Book Library!
